LIFE-LONG ALASKAN, BOARD CERTIFIED
Meet Dr. Foster
A graduate of Chugiak High School, Dr. Foster has trained as a surgeon with focus on returning to the Last Frontier to serve her fellow Alaskans.
Dr. Foster attended college at Boston University and was awarded degrees in Neuroscience and Biochemistry. She also obtained her medical degree from BU where she was an avid member of the founding chapter of Socially Responsible Surgery and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society.
After completing her MD, she trained in General Surgery at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, CO before finally fulfilling her dream to return to Alaska and serve her community.
She believes collaboration and communication with all members of the patient care team to deliver optimal surgical care. She is skilled in both minimally invasive techniques using state-of-the-art robotics as well as complex open operations. She takes trauma and acute care surgery call through Alaska Regional.
Outside of academics, Dr. Foster is also a classically trained pianist and loves to cook, read, and spend time outdoors with her many pets and family. Her favorite Alaskan hikes include Reed Lakes and Gunsight Mountain and she has thoroughly explored Unit 13 with her annual subsistence permit.
